Kansas City, MO — The NFL community and fans around the world are in shock following heartbreaking news from Arrowhead Stadium.
It was confirmed this morning that Tyren Blake, the Kansas City Chiefs’ standout defensive end and fan-favorite, has tragically passed away at the age of 27. The team released an official statement at 7:15 a.m. CST, reading:
> “It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we confirm the passing of Tyren Blake. Tyren was more than a football player — he was a brother, a leader, and a source of strength for this team and city. Our thoughts are with his family during this unthinkable time.”
Sources close to the organization report that Blake was involved in a fatal car accident late Saturday night on Interstate 435. Authorities say that weather conditions and limited visibility may have played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
