Look no further than his Kansas City Chiefs teammate, Patrick Mahomes, who admitted that he secretly wishes he could replicate Kelce’s most significant achievement.

Patrick Mahomes wants to be like Travis Kelce

In a funny video posted by Complex Sports, Mahomes took the time to respond to angry messages from fans on social media. Haters went in on the Chiefs QB for his voice, his dad bod and countless other traits. One of them was more personal.

A post pulled up by Complex emphasized that Mahomes does not have a college degree, since he did not graduate from Texas Tech before turning pro.

“I have not graduated yet. I’m 15 hours short,” the 28-year-old conceded to the online troll, before throwing a shot at Kelce.

“If Travis got his diploma, I gotta find a way to get my diploma from Texas Tech. I did way more classes than he did,” the Super Bowl MVP joked.

Kelce sparked controversy

This offseason, Travis returned to University of Cincinnati alongside his brother Jason Kelce for a live episode of their podcast that included a ceremony to finally receive their college diplomas.

They kicked up a storm when Travis chugged a beer on the stage before taking his certificate, leading to suggestions that he was not being a good role model. However, Mahomes’ interest in copying his teammate’s big achievement suggests the opposite.

If one-upping Kelce isn’t enough motivation for his quarterback, there is also plenty of pressure from home.

“My mom’s gonna be pissed if I don’t,” he said with a grin.
