Travis Kelce Circling Starring Role in Action-Comedy ‘Loose Cannons’ From Lionsgate, 87Eleven Entertainment
Travis Kelce, the charismatic tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, is tackling a new challenge: Hollywood. According to sources, Kelce is in talks to star in the action-comedy film “Loose Cannons” from Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment.
“Loose Cannons” follows the story of a former Special Forces operative turned high school football coach, played by Kelce, who must use his unique skills to take down a group of rogue mercenaries threatening his team and community.
Kelce, known for his energetic personality and athletic prowess on the field, is excited to bring his talents to the big screen. “I’m thrilled to be a part of this project,” he said in a statement. “The script is action-packed, hilarious, and has a lot of heart. I can’t wait to get started!”
The film will be directed by Sam Hargrave, known for his work on “Extraction” and “Atomic Blonde,” and produced by 87Eleven Entertainment’s David Leitch and Kelly McCormick.
“Travis Kelce is a natural-born star,” said Leitch. “He brings a level of charisma and physicality to the role that’s perfect for this film. We’re excited to have him on board!”
Production on “Loose Cannons” is set to begin in early 2024, with a release date slated for the following year.
This isn’t Kelce’s first foray into entertainment. He’s made appearances on TV shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” and has even hosted his own podcast, “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.”
However, “Loose Cannons” marks his first leading role in a feature film. If successful, it could pave the way for more Hollywood opportunities for the NFL star.
