Tom Brady confirms the three NFL teams that would make him reconsider retirement
If he still feels completely fit and able, there is no reason why Tom Brady shouldn’t consider coming back to the NFL. Although he has repeatedly stated he is 100% retired, a recent statement caught him slacking and he came clean about how he really feels. As it turns out, staying retired from the game has proven to be difficult and Tom Brady clearly misses being part of a team. We’ve all been trying to get him to say something like this for months but it took a haircuts-themed podcast to get him comfortable-enough to say it. It happened during the Deep Cuts podcast as he was getting a haircut, Brady finally said what we were all thinking.
As he answered the question, Tom Brady clarified he doesn’t know if the NFL owners would allow him to return to play if he becomes a team owner. If you may recall, Tom is currently in the process of becoming part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders team. Should he get a call, Brady confirmed he is not only ready but named three teams he would say yes to. The person cutting his hair named the Raiders, the 49ers, and the Patriots. Here’s his statement: “I’m not opposed to it. I don’t know if they’re gonna let me, if I become an owner of an NFL team, but I don’t know if — I don’t know, I’m always gonna be in good shape, (I’ll) always be able to throw the ball. So to come in for a little bit, like M.J. coming back? I don’t know if they’d let me, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”
How possible is it for Tom Brady to actually return?
At the end of the day, Tom Brady returning to the NFL depends on two factors. One is that one of these three teams he mentioned suffers an injury setback with one of their quarterbacks. The other is that permission from the rest of the NFL owners, who nobody thinks would oppose to the idea. Having the greatest of all time returning for one last dance as Michael Jordan did is a tantalizing idea. We already know Brady is open to the idea, which is more than enough reason to get all NFL fans excited. Tom is still fit and able to keep playing despite pushing 47 years old.
