Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has never been shy about his love for Taylor Swift’s music. So, when he attended her Eras Tour concert, he came prepared with a special gift – a handmade friendship bracelet bearing his jersey number, 87.
However, despite his best efforts, Kelce left the concert disappointed, unable to hand the bracelet to his musical idol. In a recent interview, the NFL star shared his Swiftie story, revealing the unfulfilled gesture.
“I made this sick bracelet with my number on it, thinking I’d get to give it to her,” Kelce said, chuckling. “But, alas, it didn’t happen. I was stuck in the crowd, screaming my head off like a fanboy.”
Kelce, known for his charismatic personality and sense of humor, took the snub in stride, joking about his failed attempt to meet Swift. “I guess I’ll just have to settle for being a Swiftie from afar,” he quipped.
Despite the missed opportunity, Kelce praised Swift’s performance, calling her “an absolute rockstar.” He even hinted at potentially attending another show, bracelet in hand, hoping for a second chance to meet the singer.
Swifties and football fans alike are rallying behind Kelce, urging Swift to notice the NFL star’s heartfelt gesture. Who knows? Maybe next time, Kelce will get to hand-deliver his bracelet and meet his musical hero.
