Chiefs’ Travis Kelce in Position to Join Historical Company This Season
Travis Kelce has been consistently great for the Kansas City Chiefs, and he is set to join elite company this upcoming season.
The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best tight ends in the history of the game, and he could continue to add to his impressive resume this season.
Travis Kelce has been one of the most consistent pass-catchers in the entire league for the past several seasons. Out of the 10 years that he has gotten starter reps, he has only finished with less than 1,000 yards three times, one of which was this past season.
As a result of this consistency, Kelce has been steadily climbing the all-time receiving yards list. If he is able to have an even half-decent season, then he will be able to climb into the top-30 all time for career receiving yardage.
The player that sits at No. 30 in the list is Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin with 11,904 yards. With Kelce being at 11,328 career yards, that means that he only has to finish this season with just under 600 yards to pass Irvin.
Given the fact that he has never finished with less than 850 yards, it seems like a given that he is going to pass Irvin this season. So if he is able to put together another season with over 1,000 yards, he could soar even higher in the rankings.
Kelce was one of the biggest reason the Chiefs went back-to-back this past season. If he is able to continue his greatness, then the team could be poised to make yet another deep playoff run.
