KANSAS CITY, MO — In a shocking turn of events late Thursday afternoon, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has reportedly filed a $15 million lawsuit against his neighbor following a terrifying incident that left his 2-year-old son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, critically injured.
According to the fictional legal filing obtained by The Daily Chronicle, the Mahomes family alleges that their next-door neighbor, identified only as “Mr. R. Davis,” negligently failed to restrain his large dog, described by witnesses as “agitated” and “unpredictable.”
The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m., when Brittany Mahomes, Patrick’s wife, was playing with Bronze in their backyard. A section of the wooden fence separating the two properties reportedly gave way, allowing the dog to charge into the Mahomes’ yard. Within seconds, chaos erupted.
“Brittany screamed for help — it was like a nightmare,” said one neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous. “Patrick came running out barefoot. He didn’t even hesitate; he tackled the dog himself to get it off the baby.”
Bronze was rushed to Children’s Mercy Hospital, where doctors described his condition as critical but stable. Sources close to the family say he underwent emergency surgery for deep bite wounds to his shoulder and arm.
In the fictional complaint, the Mahomes’ attorney described the attack as a “preventable tragedy born of reckless disregard,” seeking $15 million in damages for medical expenses, emotional distress, and negligence.
Mr. Davis, the neighbor, declined to comment but was reportedly “devastated” by the event. Animal control officers have since removed the dog, pending an investigation.
Patrick Mahomes, who has become one of the NFL’s most recognizable figures, released a brief statement through his agent:
“Our only focus right now is Bronze’s recovery. We appreciate the outpouring of love and ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
