Breaking: In the face of King Charles’ snub, Princess Diana’s family “supports” Prince Harry “without question”…
Prince Harry is back in London this week to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. At the service at St Paul’s Cathedral today, he arrived to cheers from the gathered on-lookers. T&C contributing editor Victoria Murphy was on the scene to capture the moment:
While no members of the royal family will be joining Prince Harry today, members of Princess Diana’s family, including her brother, Charles Spencer, and her sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, were in attendance at the event. In addition Harry’s cousins Lara Spencer, Louis Spencer, and George McCorquodale were also spotted entering the cathedral.
Since moving to the U.S., Prince Harry has remained close with the Spencer side of his family. In September 2022, when Harry and Meghan Markle were back in the UK for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, they took a trip to Althorp, Princess Diana’s childhood home, spent time with his uncle and his aunts, and visited Diana’s final resting place. Plus, in March 2023 Diana’s sisters, Lady Jane and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, were reportedly in attendance at Princess Lilibet’s christening.
Elsewhere in London, King Charles hosted the first Garden Party of the year at Buckingham Palace. He was joined by many other senior working royals, including Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.
A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex told T&C that Harry won’t see Charles while he’s in town this week. “It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon,” the spokesperson said. It’s also unlikely Prince Harry will see his brother, Prince William, or his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
