The Kansas City Chiefs did it again! But that’s what we expect from Patrick Mahomes. That play where the QB connected with Travis Kelce wasn’t something out of Andy Reid’s books. The QB-receiver duo had to improvise. The Chiefs TE hasn’t had a noticeable season all year and just when we thought the connection was fading, they sparked it again.

It was a 2-minute warning in the last quarter, and the game started with KC on a third and 7. Mahomes scrambled, made a man miss, and lobbed the pass to Travis Kelce for a first down. The rest was handled by Matthew Wright, and the Chiefs won the division with a doink. Reid didn’t even look at the game-winning kick because he had other things on his mind.

The Chiefs have been lagging when it comes to scoring in the end zone, and Matthew Wright did a lot of heavy lifting in the game, putting up 13 points on his own. But if Mahomes and Kelce didn’t connect on that play, the Chiefs wouldn’t have been in the position to win that game. Andy Reid spoke about Mahomes and Kelce breaking protocol in the post-game.

But the team is still struggling with red zone issues, and it doesn’t look like Mahomes is playing freely. The QB went 24 of 37 and scored a touchdown on a pass to DeAndre Hopkins. Maybe those red zone problems haunt Andy Reid, so much so that he couldn’t focus on the game-winning moment.

It took a second after that doink for Andy Reid to come back to reality and celebrate the win. He was seen hugging Isaiah Pacheco, celebrating the win. At least he seemed to be in good spirits at that moment.

With this win, the Chiefs now have an NFL record of 15 one-score wins in a row. Despite the Chiefs winning, Andy Reid knows this is no way to carry his offense forward. Especially when the Chiefs are gunning to make history. At some point down the line, the Chiefs will be up against the Bills, Steelers, Ravens, Eagles, or Lions, and this lackluster offense might not help them win against these Super Bowl-worthy teams.
